First of all, how does an attachment occur? Attachments often stem from trauma, whether it’s a prolonged experience or a single significant event. They can also arise from curses, hexes, or black magic; exposure to negative energies in unclean or energetically heavy places; or even manifest from persistent low-vibrational thoughts or emotions.

More often than not, trauma is the primary cause or trigger of an attachment. Once a single attachment forms, it can act like a magnet, attracting similar energies that may also attach to you.

Trauma, whether psychological or physical, can occur at any point in our lives, leaving an imprint that influences our well-being. It may be during our birth, from complications (which our conscious mind don't remember but our subconscious mind does); during our childhood, from dominating parents/guardians; during adolescence, from being bullied by peers; during adulthood from a bad relationship; or from a single major event like the loss of a loved one, a road accident or an illness which caused us a lot of pain and anguish. Whether or not you believe in reincarnation, trauma can also stem from unresolved or unprocessed issues carried over from past lives.

These traumas are negative energies - heavy, murky energies which are left within us. If not cleared, they will attract similar energies and will eventually become so dense that they cause damage to our energetic body or aura. Our aura is like a shield to our physical body. When our aura is damaged we become weaker and more vulnerable to invasions and intrusions of heavier negative energies which can include the ones with consciousness like a lost earth-bound spirit, an entity, dark energies or a psychic attack like a curse or hex.

Symptoms of an invasion or attachment can vary. Some will never seem to be able to move forward in life or in a relationship no matter what they do; some will develop phobias and limiting beliefs; some will have emotional or mental imbalances; some will develop sudden cravings or addictions to certain foods, alcohol, drugs or bad habits like smoking; some will develop sudden fear of the unknown or their surroundings; some will have a streak of bad luck one after another; some will no longer feel happy and will create problems in their relationships/marriage; or some will manifest a sudden physical condition, etc. The list goes on here. To simplify it, things will be out of balance and you will find yourself behaving differently at times or doing things you would not do otherwise. It is not uncommon for you to have low or dark thoughts too. Left uncleared or unprocessed, all these will get worse as time goes by.

In addition to that, a damaged aura leaves our chakras open to attacks. Our chakras each have a layer of protection themselves but when these protective barriers are attacked, they break open or crack, allowing the entities to latch onto the chakras. This can cause more serious effects like hallucinations or hearing of voices.
